We are fundraising for camp at Golden Bay and we are doing very well today we are doing air guitar and from the class sponsorships we have raised $812 which is very good money and we also have the harry potter night coming up next Friday which will be good so I definitely think we will have enough money for camp.
And I hope the air guitar will go well today.

Totara car race
On Monday Totara syndicate had a rubber band powered car race, "what was up for grabs" the chance to represent the school at Waimea college in a couple of weeks and bragging rights. People were going round bragging to other people that their car would smash up. People walked up 1 by 1 with their gut going around and around but they pushed through and let their car fly down the track. One person not naming names was going round saying that his car could go 20 metres but he chickened out and only went ten metres. Bianca made him put a sock in it when her car went 13 metres. Bianca's BLITZED everyone else and brought home the bacon for room 7.

NMIT Mural
Through the week we have been doing a Mural to be placed on the NMIT fence we have been doing taevae patterns similar to the cook island weaving patterns we have showed littler kids how to do it and we all have contributed loads to it.
It is a very big task but we have finished it now which I am proud of. How we make the patterns is we have stencils of the petals and we paint a colour in the stencils then we take the stencil off and choose a colour for the middle bit which we stamp on. Last we choose another colour for the what I call the "secondary petals" which we stamp on then you're done, we have showed loads of people and it has been a big job and the opening of it will be soon.
We are all very proud of it and I hope I will see the revealing of it.

wednesday

Our class is going have an awesome day on Wednesday! We're going to have our findout awards. This yellow thing is what our program looks like. We have something like 24 entries! This white piece of paper is the sheet our judges use. After the findout awards we are ordering a whole lot of pizzas to eat with our buddies for lunch. Then we're going for a swim at riverside swimming pool for an hour.

Rich Task
In class we have been doing our Rich Task and we have to look at the undeveloped parts of the school and think of places to put in fitness exercises and when we have finished that if it is good Jonathan will let us write a proposal to the school committee to say what fitness activity we would like to put into the school and prove it will be safe. We have started this and I wonder if the committee will actually let us put in a fitness activity.

This year our class is using a system of money (payday dollars). We have $1 coins, $5 notes, $10 notes, $50 notes, $100 notes, $500 notes and golden $1000 notes. Every fortnight we get paid according to our job. For example the ICT Managers get $35 a fortnight. If we do something good we put our names/initials on the 'positive board'. Then, when payday comes we get extra dollars according to how much points we have on the positive board. 1 point equals $1. There also is a 'Negative board'. This is were we put our names if we've done something bad or naughty. Then we don't g

2010 Student Council Elections

All the candidates feel great to be elected, David Zohrab is our year five Representative.
Quote " Thank you for voting for me I will try my best to get your ideas and hopefully we can benefit the new things around the school". Lachie is one of our year six councillors.
Quote " I appreciate everyone who voted for me (even everyone did) I will make your last years your best years". Our other year six councillor is Toby.
Quote " Hi everyone, I'd just like to thank every person who gave me a vote and I hope that we can make this year a great year for Central". I hope our class councillors will fix up the problem on Alton St. and get the Nelson city council to put in a kerbing.

Do The Job Get The Pay Room 7
In room 7 we are assigning jobs to people for different purposes. We got job descriptions before we applied to see what jobs we could apply for, so then we could see the pay, and how long it would take to pay off the debt of the business if we got it. The way you apply is you write a formal letter of ask, to apply for the job. Then our teacher (Jonathan)will look and read our applications and decide who best fits the job. If we got the job we would have to use our own pay each week from the bank to pay off the debt of buying the business, kind of like the mortg
age on your house. These are the jobs that we applied for.
Students who buy and operate these businesses will receive a weekly amount for their efforts if their tasks are completed.
